Why therapy at home?
Skills are most meaningful when they are learned where they will be used. Teaching during real routines, such as mealtimes, getting dressed, playing with siblings, and trips to the park, helps new skills carry over into everyday life. Home-based sessions also let caregivers see strategies in action and practice them between sessions.
Who works with your child
- A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) completes the assessment, designs the treatment plan, supervises sessions, and leads caregiver training.
- A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides one-on-one sessions under the BCBA’s ongoing supervision.
- All clinical staff complete background checks, and we work to keep a consistent team with each family.
What a session looks like
Sessions begin with connection: your child’s favorite activities and toys. Learning opportunities are woven into play and daily routines, and correct responses lead to natural rewards. Clinicians watch for signs that your child needs a break and adjust. Data is collected throughout each session so the team can see what is working.
What we can work on together
- Communication, including vocal speech, sign, picture exchange, and AAC devices
- Play and social skills
- Daily living skills, such as dressing, toileting, and mealtime routines
- Safety skills
- Replacing challenging behavior with positive, functional skills
- School readiness
Caregivers are part of the team
Caregiver training is included in every treatment plan. You will learn the strategies your child’s team uses, set goals together, and review progress with your BCBA. Some caregiver sessions can take place by telehealth when appropriate. A parent or caregiver should be available during in-home sessions, and you are always welcome to observe.
Community and school
When it helps your child’s goals, sessions can take place in community settings. With your permission, we also coordinate with your child’s school, IEP team, pediatrician, and other therapists. Some settings require approval from your insurance.
Where we provide in-home ABA
We are enrolling families across Maryland, including Prince George’s County, Baltimore, Montgomery County, Anne Arundel County, and Howard County.
